Holy Trinity Students
Welcome to the Holy Trinity Student website
University is a place to discover yourself, to build friendships and to deepen your relationship with God.
At Holy Trinity we have a vibrant, dynamic and growing community of around 50 committed students, with a vision to live out our faith in a way that mirrors the early church of Acts and to see the Kingdom of God established in our Universities.
To enable this we run mission focused student cell groups which meet in each others homes to share our lives, study Scripture, pray, worship and socialise. In addition to this we run student Alpha courses, outreach initiatives and guys and girls ministry groups. To sustain this vision the whole student community comes together twice a term to seek Gods heart through prayer and worship.
We believe that God has called us to live passionately for Jesus and are committed to fulfi lling our commission to make disciples and be ambassadors for Christ in our Universities. As a student community we would like to welcome you to Leicester and hope that you will feel at home with us at Holy Trinity. If you would like to know more about the student community, explore the rest of this website...

Our community is built through cells led by students, for students.
To Love God by placing Jesus at the centre through worship, prayer and applying God's word to our lives.
To Love one Another by developing honest trusting relationships with one another and being a source of support and encouragement to each other at university.
To Love the World through an ongoing lifestyle of reaching out to others who do not know Jesus and being a positive influence on the university community around you.
Cells meet around the city in students houses depending on location and university. There are 4 cell groups. 2 meet on a Wednesday and 2 meet on a Thursday. All the cell leaders are on the Student team and are trained by Vic Sekasi, the student minister.
The Alpha course is open to all wanting to explore the Christian faith. Most courses attract a diverse range of guests of different ages and backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints. Many guests have never been to church, whilst others may have attended church occasionally, but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.
People attend for a wide variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other peoples' beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is.
Over 7,000 courses are currently running across the UK in rural and urban settings, including every major UK city.
The Alpha course we facilate at both Leicester and DeMontfort University, is tailored by students for students, so we can discuss topics relevent to your lives in a relaxed friendly envoronment of peers, who often become good friends. We even throw in some free food each week as we know how important food is for students!
So if you feel you have a question about God you would like answered, if you are unsure of your faith, or if you just want to find out more we would love to meet you and invite you on to the next course.

You're young, your at Uni, and you have the whole of your life ahead of you, unlimited possibilities and untapped potential. So what do you do?
A whole industry has grown up to take advantage of your dilemma. Career Fairs tempt you with the perfect job, the perfect vocation, the perfect life. The people who care about us our family, friends, and tutors, can pile on expectations about we should do, where we should go, and who we should be.
Potential is different. It is an opportunity for you to step out of the busyness of life and its pressures and make space to reflect on some fundamental questions.
Where am I?
What do I really want?
What am I good at?
Where am I going?
Potential is designed to help you find your unique genius that something we do which we are effortless good at and enjoy.
With this in mind the course guides help you find out how you can use your unique genius in life and in the workplace, helping you to create a path in life that you can move along with confidence and excitement.
Potential can help you refine your chosen career plan, help you gain more clarity if your future seems uncertain, or simply give you more confidence in your skills and passions.
This course is particularly useful for graduating students who either have no idea what to do next or want to pin point and understand their unique genius in a way they can explain with skill at job interviews.
Holy Trinity run this course in partnership with Cross Roads retreats who have been delivering a similar course to adults with huge success.
The course are run by students who have been on the course themselves and are trained to guild you along your journey.
The course at Holy T are run either in evening sessions, over the period of a week or weeks, or can be run on a weekend retreat we try and work to what's best for you.
Open to both Christians and people of different or no faith, this is course where people have the opportunities to share their lives and faith with friends, so if you think you would benefit from the course we encourage you to invite your friends along to share in the experience.
As students we have an amazing opportunity to be released in to the world with a Degree that arms us for success.
But if we dont know what we really want or what were really good at, we can find ourselves suddenly lost in the world of work.
Dont wake up one day to find yourself, middle aged, in a dead end job you hate unlock your hidden desires and potential now, for a bright and exiting future.
Potential course
All members of the student community here at Holy Trinity are involved in outreach in some way but we also have teams of people committed to this particular ministry.
The purpose of the Outreach Team is to demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus Christ in real and practical ways to the people of Leicester.
Our aim is to reach those whom society, and sadly often the church, has passed by - the broken, the poor and the marginalised. Currently the ministry consists of paying weekly visits to the homeless population of Leicester, serving food and hot drinks and providing an environment where conversation can take place.
Our long term vision is to see this team expand to reach other groups on the fringes of society. Come and experience life as a Christian on the front line!

Student Worship cafés are held once a term and are an opportunity for the whole student community to come together to praise God over coffee and cake, in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
To keep things exiting, no worship café is the same as the format varies each time, depending on the theme for the night.
But at each event you can expect:
Welcoming games and activities
Worship lead by a live band
Creative worship
Prayer
These events help grow our foundations in God and ground us in scripture, as well as being a fun, community building evening.

The student community here at Holy wants to be like the early church of acts which as well as worshiping together and uniting in mission includes a lot of social events which often include a lot of good food:
They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts
This for us is way of life so if you visit our church expect to be invited round to someones house for a cuppa.
The church Intern house on Tower St is often the hub of social activities, including mulled wine parties, pan cake parties if you can think of a reason for a get together well have one!
We also come together regularly at:
The Slug and Lettuce
Spending time in each others company is an integral part of church so we see our weekly trips to the Slug and Lettuce, every Sunday after church, as merely an extension of church itself, and invite to come and join us one evening for a relaxing drink and discussion.
Roast
We know how hard it can be living away from home, with little money, and how a home cooked meal can make the world of difference.
So once a term we come together as a community for a roast diner, cooked and prepared by people at Holy Trinity who have a heart to love and serve us students.
Christmas Ball
The highlight of the student calendar is a glittering bal held at Holy T.
The evening includes a two course meal, live music and lots of dancing.
The date of the Christmas ball this year will be announced HERE shortly, so keep watching this space.
